Jake Byrne, the 30-something year old Navy vet, pandemic medic, fashion photographer, suit tailor, vintage guitar luthier, has just added “folk singer-songwriter” to his list of vocations— in order to start that process.

“To Please a Crowd is Magic” is the eight-song debut album of the Ozark woodsman-turned-London cultured gentleman, recently joining the conversation of his musically talented peers in his current home of Nashville, TN. Inspired by the compositional styles of Nick Drake, Hozier, Wilco, Fleet Foxes and Gillian Welch, Jake had his debut album produced/engineered by Baerd in the Summer of 2023.

Dark lyrical subject matter is cloaked in dry wit and light-hearted catchy melodies; Jake Byrne is an open book for those on a fervent search for authenticity in today’s music.
